1KOMMA5° launches high performance solar module with polysilicon from Germany

• 1KOMMA5° announces the launch of its new 1KOMMA5° Full Black double-glass solar module. The company is the only German manufacturer to use polysilicon from Bavaria and Saxony for its solar modules, despite significantly higher production costs. 

• The company thus ensures the highest environmental and social standards and specifically promotes European added value in production.

Hamburg, Germany – Mar 5, 2025 – 1KOMMA5°, the Hamburg-based New Energy company and developer of the Heartbeat AI electricity market software, announces the launch of its new 1KOMMA5° Full Black double-glass solar module. For the latest generation, the company has again chosen polysilicon from Germany, as with the previous module, demonstrating its commitment to high environmental and social standards and transparency in production. Additionally, the product features and guarantee have been further improved.

Philipp Schröder, CEO and co-founder of 1KOMMA5°, says: “We are also using polysilicon from Wacker Chemie for our new solar module, even though this means we have significantly higher production costs compared to polysilicon from China. This ensures that the module's most energy-intensive production step takes place within German value creation, allowing us to guarantee that the manufacturing conditions align with our values and requirements. No one else on the market offers this, and we can see that our customers recognize the added value.” 

With its new solar module, 1KOMMA5° is consciously prioritizing quality and longevity. The company has increased the product guarantee from 25 to 30 years, which is above the market average. In addition, the 1KOMMA5° guarantees that each PV module will still achieve a nominal output of at least 86 percent at the end of the warranty period. The module is available in power levels of 445 Wp (Watt Peak) and 450 Wp, outperforming many conventional variants. It is also already certified for higher power levels.

The N-Type TOPCon technology and the new double-glass design with 2 mm glass on the front and back result in a particularly robust product that can withstand even the most demanding conditions caused by snow and wind. With an efficiency of 22.8 percent, the new solar module achieves maximum energy efficiency for cost-effective electricity.

With the new PV module, the company is further improving its product range around the 1KOMMA5° inverter, the 1KOMMA5° battery and its own dynamic electricity tariff Dynamic Pulse and creating additional optimization potential for Heartbeat AI, 1KOMMA5°'s electricity market software. Heartbeat AI connects the components to create an intelligent energy solution and allows customers to benefit from the volatility of renewable energy: Surplus solar production is fed into the grid when prices are high and electricity is consumed from the grid when prices are low. Thanks to intelligent storage and optimized consumption, more income can be generated from the solar power produced than the costs incurred. 

Instead of charging margins on electricity as an energy supplier, 1KOMMA5° charges a flat-rate software fee for Heartbeat AI and thus enables dynamic and individual electricity prices in real time instead of conventional static tariffs.

Last year, the company further expanded Heartbeat AI to support compatible heat pumps, electricity storage systems and wallboxes, regardless of the manufacturer. As a result, 1KOMMA5° increased the number of connected energy systems to 40,000 and is now Europe's largest virtual power plant (VPP) for private households.
