Hamburg, September 22, 2026 – 1KOMMA5°, the Hamburg-based CleanTech unicorn, continues its growth in the first three quarters of 2026: revenue is up by a purely organic 30 percent year-on-year. For the full year, the company expects growth of 35 to 40 percent and revenue of around 750 million US dollars (approx. 700 million euros) – just five years after its founding. This solidifies 1KOMMA5°’s position as by far the fastest-growing provider of integrated energy solutions in Germany.
In its core hardware business (solar, heat pumps, batteries, air conditioning, and wallboxes), 1KOMMA5° expects an operating profit (EBITDA) of around 40 million euros for the current year. In August alone, 1KOMMA5° set two records: global order intake reached 100 million euros while the AI division's business reached an annualized revenue run rate of around 30 million euros – nearly doubling year-over-year.
Philipp Schröder, CEO and co-founder of 1KOMMA5°, says: "We are growing strongly and through our own strength, without any further acquisitions. More importantly, we have significantly improved profitability in our core business. At the same time, we have achieved our strategic goal of expanding our energy AI division and opening it up. We will continue on this path consistently."
Around 35 million euros per year is planned for research and development of the company's proprietary software under the "Heartbeat AI" brand, financed from its own operating cash flow. The energy AI connects and intelligently controls the systems installed in customers' homes and profitably sells electricity on their behalf on the power exchange. This significantly lowers energy costs and stabilizes the grid during periods of high or low generation. Heartbeat AI is already compatible with a broad range of energy systems in Germany today and aggregates more than 1 GW of flexibility capacity – making it one of Europe's largest virtual power plants for private households.

In addition to orders from European state-owned utilities and institutional real estate owners, the Hamburg-based startup secured major public-sector contracts in Germany for the first time, including from the German state of Lower Saxony.
Micha Grüber, CFO and co-founder of 1KOMMA5°, explains: "We now have a secured order pipeline in the billions, which significantly increases our planning security. To better finance this growth across our customer segments, we secured a financing facility of up to 500 million euros with leading banks for our Business-to-Government segment alone in the first half of the year. On top of that, there is a volume of up to 1 billion euros for our private customer segment. This leaves 1KOMMA5°'s balance sheet unaffected – the company itself therefore remains debt-free."
This growth comes amid regulatory shifts in the energy market. "The planned end of the statutory feed-in tariff marks a new beginning for the power market," says Schröder. "In a free market, Heartbeat AI will now take on the role once played by the fixed statutory tariff. This shift is a tailwind for our AI strategy of serving as a platform provider to all operators in Germany as a control, operations, and settlement platform – and of helping to make the electricity system as a whole cheaper and more secure for everyone."
Since its founding in 2021, 1KOMMA5° has raised nearly 400 million euros in equity and is debt-free. A credit line of up to 100 million euros made available in 2023 was never drawn upon. The company is one of the fastest-growing and most profitable startups in Europe. Today, around 3,000 people worldwide work toward the company’s vision.
